2. In-home Cooking Instructions/Lessons
(Sliding Scale Rate: $60-120)
  • Sliding Scale Nutrition focuses on Whole Foods (not the store!) which means meals we encourage are those that contain foods that are as close to being whole as possible. If this concept is unclear or confusing to you it is something I would be happy to address at any point!
  • Cooking instructions/lessons are offered to those with any level of cooking ability - the purpose of this service is to help you feel more comfortable in the kitchen so cooking whole foods meals at home is not intimidating or scary.
  • One of the best parts about cooking a meal in your own kitchen is making enough to have leftovers for a meal the next day! This will be an emphasis during our cooking lesson. We'll make sure to make enough food that you can have leftovers for lunch or dinner in the following days.
  • I will come to your home and cook a meal with you from start to finish.
    • We can discuss what kind of menu/foods you would like to learn how to cook (for some ideas see the Menus page on this website).
    • We'll construct a grocery list based on what you have on hand and what you'll need at the store.
    • I'll have you procure the various food items.
    • I'll arrive at your house and show you how to cook whatever it is we have chosen to cook.
    • We'll eat together and I'll help you clean up!
3. On Location Grocery Store Field Trips
(Sliding Scale Rate: $40-90) **NOTE** We also offer a similar service for farmers markets. It can be very intimidating to try to shop at a farmers market. It took me years to become comfortable and confident shopping at these venues. This service gives you the tools you need to make supporting local farmers as easy as possible!
  • The purpose of this service is to help you become familiar with the healthier items at the grocery store. Also, if you are working within the parameters of a restricted diet, it will help you identify the specific foods that are approved in your diet and that are to be avoided.
  • We will meet at a local grocery store of your choice and walk around the store for ~ 40 minutes - 1 hour.
  • I'll have you bring a shopping list to help guide our tour.
  • As we walk around the store we will shop for your upcoming week making healthy and educated food choices as we go. We'll bring your specific diet (if you're on one) and use it as a guide to decide what you should and should not buy.
  • We'll look at nutrition labels, practice reading ingredient lists, and compare costs.

  • You'll leave feeling confident that you can make knowledgeable and healthy choices when you shop for yourself the next time AND you're grocery shopping will be done for the week!
4. Complete Diet Analysis - Two Sessions
Each Session ~ 30+ minutes *First session can be over the phone
(Sliding Scale Rate: $40-90 total for both sessions)

  • FIRST SESSION
    • I will provide a "diet diary" that you will fill out in the following days.
    • I will go over with you exactly how to fill out the diary so your diet analysis results will be as accurate as possible.
  • SECOND SESSION
    • Using professional diet analysis software I will analyze the calorie and nutrient intake of your reported weekly diet.
    • I'll give you a copy of your report which will tell you how much of each macro and micro nutrient you ate on each day and how that compares to your recommended intakes. We'll also look at the same information but for your average intake over the number of days analyzed.
    • We will review these and other reports and discuss any dietary changes that might be beneficial to you based on the information gathered from your diet analysis.
5. Nutrition Education - 30 minute - 1 hour sessions
(Sliding Scale Rate: $20-90)

  • You're not alone if nutrition is one of the more confusing topics you've ever tried to understand! It is for me and I have my Masters in the subject! The first thing you should know about these sessions are that many of the answers I'll provide in this session will start with "well, it depends." This may be frustrating but it's the truth because nutrition is different for every individual! However, there are some concepts that science understands better than others and I'd love to share them with you and explain them in a way you will better understand!
  • This session is an opportunity to get professional answers to all your nutrition questions and misunderstandings!
  • This session will be most beneficial if you are able to brainstorm your questions before our session and email them to me! This way I can research any answers I don't know off the top of my head and we can use our session time to clear up any confusion you have about nutrition.
